My survey process
What is a Measured Building Survey?
A measured building survey involves taking measurements of your home to record its size and shape, inside and out, to produce accurate ‘as existing’ drawings to a given scale.
What is involved?
A home visit by me to take accurate measurements and a range of photos of your existing home, both inside and out.
📧 I’ll contact you to agree a date and time for your measured survey to take place.
🤝 We’ll agree access arrangements for your property and discuss any access restrictions.
🕑 I’ll confirm roughly how long the visit will last.
🕑 At our agreed time, I’ll visit your home and start measuring.
📏 I’ll work efficiently and quietly to measure your property. I’ll walk around, drawing a series of sketches, taking measurements to position everything correctly. I’ll take measurements outside too, to record your home’s exterior.
🕑 Expect my visit to last 2 to 4 hours, depending on the size and complexity of your home.
📂 I’ll save the measurement data in a project folder.
📸 I’ll create a secure, sharable place to store the photos.
✏️ I can now help you with architectural design and drawings.
