Sue and Ozz are not afraid of tackling a home renovation project. Having completed two previous house renovations together they’ve been slowly refurbishing and subtly extending Lulworth for over ten years now. Every time the results have been fantastic and their beautiful contemporary kitchen is no exception.
We have used Jon's services on more than one occasion for advice, technical information, drawings and planning inquiries. On our most recent project Jon has been involved from the outset, discussing initial ideas, providing architectural drawings and coordinating the planning permission and structural analysis requirements. Always professional, courteous and approachable, Jon listened to our needs and the detailed nature of his work has resulted in a set of plans which both the builder and building inspectors have found comprehensive and clear. Many Thanks!
Sue & Ozz
Sue and Ozz have been systematically refurbishing their bungalow, Lulworth, room-by-room since moving in over ten years ago. The old kitchen was cramped, dark and in need of a refresh. As the rest of the bungalow was slowly transformed from tired and dated to chic and contemporary the old kitchen was beginning to stand out like a sore thumb. Maybe they’d been planning to save the best till last?
We all agreed the old kitchen was under-sized. As well as extending and modernising the kitchen, Sue and Ozz wanted it to feel light-and-airy so we needed to ensure plenty of natural light entered the space. The front of the property had been tastefully extended a few years ago so we decided the exterior of this rear extension should mimic the design and materials of the front. This would ensure continuity throughout the whole property.
The glazing design required careful coordination by Complete Architecture to ensure the structural engineer’s and glazing supplier’s designs worked in harmony. Whilst only a small extension the new roof structure still proved challenging to tie into the existing roof due to the shape and position of existing roof features. Thankfully a skilled contractor had been appointed who completed the build to a high standard.
With the addition of a small extension, some clever glazing and a newly installed kitchen, Sue and Ozz now have a wonderful contemporary kitchen to enjoy for many years to come.
